How to play Tabloop

Tabloop has exactly one rule: tap when the dot crosses the lit zone on the ring. That closes a loop, scores points, and speeds the dot up for the next one. Chain loops and your multiplier climbs; miss once and the run is over.

This page explains the whole game in words — every rule, the scoring maths, what each mode changes, and the controls. When you want to play it, the free game is one click away on the homepage.

What Tabloop is

Tabloop is a one-tap arcade game that plays in a web browser. A dot orbits a ring, and one arc of that ring is highlighted — the zone. Tap at the moment the dot crosses the zone and you close a loop, which scores points and makes the next loop slightly faster. Keep closing loops and a chain builds; miss once and the run ends.

That is the entire game, and it runs in the page you are already on: nothing to download, nothing to install, no account and no card. It is built touch-first, so one thumb is enough on a phone, and it plays the same on a desktop with a click. Classic mode is free forever, including score tracking and the shared daily board.

How to play, step by step

01

Open the game

Tabloop is a browser game: the playable version is on the homepage, and it loads in the page you are already on. There is no download, no install, no app store and no account — Classic mode is playable the moment it appears.

02

Tap once to start

The run begins on your first tap. Before that the ring idles in attract mode, so nothing is running and nothing is being scored while you read.

03

Watch the dot, not the ring

A dot circles the ring at a steady speed and one arc of the ring is lit up. That lit arc is the zone. Follow the moving dot with your eyes and let your hand wait for the moment it meets the zone.

04

Tap the moment the dot crosses the zone

That closes a loop. You score 10 points multiplied by your current multiplier, your chain goes up by one, and the dot speeds up slightly for the next loop.

05

Keep the chain alive

Every clean loop raises your multiplier and narrows the zone. One tap outside the zone ends the run — and a single tap starts the next one, so a bad run costs you nothing but pride.

06

Post today's score to the shared board

The score screen offers the shared daily board at /daily, where every free player's best run of the day is ranked. A display name is the entire sign-up and the board resets at midnight UTC.

Scoring, chains and multipliers

A clean loop scores 10 points times your multiplier. The multiplier gains one step for every four loops you chain, so the first three loops pay ×1, loops four to seven pay ×2, and a single unbroken chain of twenty loops is already paying ×6. The multiplier at the moment your run ends is what the score screen reports — a long chain banked early is worth more than any number of scattered single loops.

Points per clean loop, by chain length
Loops in the chainMultiplierPoints per loop
Loops 1–3×110 points per loop
Loops 4–7×220 points per loop
Loops 8–11×330 points per loop
Loops 12–15×440 points per loop
Loops 16–19×550 points per loop
Loops 20–23×660 points per loop

A miss resets the chain to zero, and in Classic or Frenzy it ends the run there. With a Streak Shield equipped, one miss is absorbed instead: the chain resets and the run keeps going. There is no timer and no lives system — a run lasts exactly as long as your timing does.

The three modes

Every mode uses the same rule — tap the zone, chain the loops — and changes the orbit speed and the size of the zone. Classic is the free one; Chill and Frenzy come with Tabloop Plus.

ModeCostHow it plays
ChillTabloop PlusSlow orbit, wide zones — warm up or wind down.
ClassicFree foreverThe signature loop: every clean tap flips the dot's direction and speeds it up.
FrenzyTabloop PlusFast, narrow, merciless — the pace score chasers pick.

Tabloop Plus is a one-time $2.99 launch price (regularly $4.99). It unlocks Chill and Frenzy, Streak Shields, and every future mode — there is no subscription and nothing to cancel. Classic mode stays free either way.

The controls

One input, everywhere. On a phone or tablet, tap anywhere on the ring. On a desktop, click — or press the spacebar, and Enter works too. Those are the only keys the game listens for, and there is nothing to configure, no gesture to learn and no second button.

The shared daily board

Every free player competes on the same Classic board at /daily. Your best run of the day is what counts — one row per player name, the top ten shown, your own row highlighted. The board is keyed to the UTC day and resets at midnight UTC, so a bad day is never permanent, and each day carries its own target score to beat. Posting a score takes a display name and nothing else: no email, no account, no card.

Six tips for a higher score

Questions

Do I need to download Tabloop?

No. Tabloop is a browser game — it loads in the page on desktop or phone with no download, no install and no app store. There is nothing to update and nothing to uninstall.

Do I need an account or an email to play?

No. Classic mode plays with no account, no email and no card. The only place a name is ever used is the shared daily board, where you type a display name for your row.

How do I score more points?

Chain loops. A clean loop is worth 10 points times your multiplier, and the multiplier gains a step every four chained loops — so one long chain is worth far more than the same number of scattered loops.

What happens when I miss?

The chain resets to zero and the run ends. Tabloop Plus adds Streak Shields: a shield absorbs one miss, resets the chain, and lets the run continue instead of ending it.

Is Tabloop free?

Yes. Classic mode is free forever in your browser, no download or sign-up. Tabloop Plus is an optional one-time launch-price unlock for Chill and Frenzy modes plus Streak Shields — not a subscription.

Can I play with a keyboard?

On desktop, spacebar or Enter taps — those are the only keys and there is nothing to configure. On a phone or tablet, tap anywhere on the ring. One input is the entire control scheme.
