No. Nothing on this page asks for one. The only place a name is ever used is the shared daily board, where you type a display name to appear on it.
Tap the moment the orbiting dot crosses the lit zone to close a loop: 10 points times your multiplier. Every four chained loops raises the multiplier by one, so one long chain is worth far more than the same number of scattered taps — and a single tap outside the zone ends the run.
